Nhan Dan Online – One hundred paintings are currently on display at an exhibition in Da Lat city, Lam Dong province entitled ‘Da Lat Ancient Villas, 35 Years – an Aspiration’ which opened on November 2.
The works were painted by artist Vi Quoc Hiep, who is known as one of the most prominent faces in the Da Lat fine art scene.
They feature the typical beauty of the city, especially the ancient villas: in the season of health-bell flowers, on the pine hill and in early autumn.
The artist paints in a wide variety of materials – oil, pastels, acrylic and beans – to express love for his beloved city.
Twenty of Quoc Hiep’s other paintings, portraying the beauty of girls and flowers in Da Lat, are also showcased at the exhibition.
The exhibition also boasts a Vietnam record-setting portrait of doctor Yersin made of beans.
The exhibition, part of activities to mark 120th anniversary of the foundation of Da Lat city, runs through November 12.
