Artist Le Xuan Huong Achieved The Third Prize in The Handicraft Products Contest of Hanoi City in 2023

On October 9th, the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development convened a panel of judges to evaluate and rank the submitted entries, selecting the prize-winning products in the 2023 Hanoi Handicraft Products Contest.

The 2023 Hanoi Handicraft Products Contest was organized by the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, with participants including organizations, individuals, and skilled artisans within the city. This contest is a significant event in the program for organizing the Vietnam Handicraft Conservation and Development Festival 2023, coordinated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Hanoi People’s Committee.

Amidst tough competition, artist Lê Xuân Hưởng remarkably achieved the third prize in the contest with the artwork “The Joyful Colored Pencil Decorative Apple Jar,” made from 560 colored pencils, precious wood, and epoxy resin. This noteworthy artwork has garnered widespread appreciation and continues to attract art enthusiasts from around the world.

Created meticulously with genuine passion and expertise, the vibrant decorative apple jar is a testament to Henry Le’s dedication and the remarkable craftsmanship of his team of artisans. Each jar is meticulously handcrafted using 560 vibrant colored pencils, thoughtfully arranged to evoke the captivating allure of an apple. The attention to every detail is impeccable, including the delicately carved flower pedestal, adding to the authenticity of this extraordinary decorative piece.

The distinctiveness of this colorful apple jar lies in the incorporation of the flaws of colored pencils, carefully integrated into the design. These imperfections not only add a rustic and alluring charm but also impart a unique personal touch to each artwork. With no two pieces alike, they become genuinely one-of-a-kind artistic creations.

Henry Le (Lê Xuân Hưởng) brings forth the ‘Joyful Apple Jar’ with the desire for its owners to always feel happiness while using it to store their favorite treats or items. Additionally, this apple can serve as an incredibly beautiful and meaningful gift.

The contest also serves as the basis for the Organizing Committee to select the authors whose products have won first, second, and third prizes in the city to participate in the Honoring Ceremony for artisans and skilled workers in the field of rural industries nationwide. This ceremony, presided over by the state leadership, is intended to commend and recognize these individuals. It is scheduled to take place on the morning of November 9, 2023, at the Presidential Palace.
