Artist Van Chien | Paintings & Art Career

Van Chien was born in 1951 in Hiep Hoa, Bac Giang province, northern Vietnam. In 1984, he graduated from Fine Art University in Hanoi and is now a member of the Vietnam Journalists Association. Artist Van Chien started his art career in 1975 and usually uses woodcarver, oil painting, lacquer.

Exhibitions & Art Events

Van Chien attended a lot of exhibitions in Vietnam as well as international ones. He has organized 9 Solo and Group Exhibitions in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. His paintings appear in the permanent collections of the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum and have been exhibited in Russia, Germany, Japan, Italia, Czech, and Slovakia… Van Chien is the winner of the National Awards on graphic paintings in 1976 - 1980 - 1990 - 2005 - 2009. His lacquer paintings were also awarded honor prizes from the Vietnam Association of Fine Arts from 2005 to 2009.
