HO CHI MINH CITY – 24 April 2013 – Questacon, Australia’s National Science & Technology Centre launched its exhibition “Fascinating Science on the Move” in Ho Chi Minh City today, one of three destinations during its tour of Vietnam.
Prior to arriving in Ho Chi Minh City, the Questacon exhibition successfully toured Hanoi and Danang where Questacon staff also held capacity building workshops for local science teachers and discussions/seminars on science communication with representatives from the education, science and culture ministries of Vietnam. The exhibition has been very well received by students, teachers and the general public.
Through its world renowned interactive exhibits, the exhibition, which is one of the Australian Government’s key activities celebrating the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Australia and Vietnam, will give children the opportunity to explore and learn a broad range of scientific themes, including the principles of music and sound, human biology, light, force and motion, perception and puzzles. Together with the exhibition, Questacon will also perform live shows.
“Australia and Vietnam have developed strong and effective education ties over the past 40 years. We believe the Questacon tour will further enhance education links between the two countries as well as trigger and inspire enthusiasm for science and technology among Vietnamese youth and children,” said Australian Consul-General John McAnulty.
“Our science exhibition demonstrates that science is fun, relevant and fascinating for all ages,” said David Cannell, Questacon Team Leader, who is accompanying Questacon’s exhibition in Vietnam.
