A contemporary Vietnamese art exhibition titled “The summer in Saigon” is running at Singapore’s Blue Lotus Fine Art Gallery till Sept 7.
The exhibit, held at 108 Tanjong Pagar Rd # 02 – 01 S, features works by Vietnamese artists Cao Thi Duoc, Limkhim Katy and Tran Thanh Canh, who belong to different generations of artists.
The artists display 23 oil paintings on nature and people.
Vietnamese paintings’ values have recently dropped in value at Singaporean auction sites like those in Larasati and Borobudur.
In May, 2013, artist Tran Quoc Tuan, whose five out of his six paintings displayed at Ion Gallery were sold in one such auction, said that art purchasers usually buy the paintings for personal collection.
