In the heart of every child “born from the village,” the longing for their homeland remains constant—a nostalgia for the childhood days, for the tranquil village evenings amid vast fields stirred by the winds, and the serene dusk where birds rush back to their nests. The village fields return to peace, bamboo lining the village, the scent of smoke in the evening… The simple, genuine, and beloved scenes of nature seem to fade into the realm of memories with the passing of time. It’s not hard to come across depictions of that simple and peaceful imagery in art, but encountering paintings soaked in deep nostalgia, evoking reminiscence, longing, and encapsulating the beauty of the artist’s soul—that, indeed, is exceptionally challenging.
