Artist Ngo Ba Cong & Childhood Memory
Childhood Memory is an artwork containing the burning passion of Artist Ngo Ba Cong – a Doctorate of Art. Currently, he is a lecture teaching art at Hanoi University of Education. Artist Ngo Ba Cong is into lacquer painting which is said to be the unique identity of Vietnamese Art. “The grainy texture covering paintings’ surface is definitely his gracious skill. He wants to make something unique that only Ngo Ba Cong have. Thus, he creates the multi-direction about his lacquer artworks instead of following the original skill”.
Expressing his opinion, he said: “Vietnamese people must love the national culture”. Topics that are always performed in his artworks are about animals and national culture.
The artwork – Childhood Memory is supposed to be an image expressing the daily life of every child across Vietnam who have grown up with buffaloes, rice field, said by Artist Ngo Ba Cong. Admiring the painting, we can feel the joyfulness, the vibrant of life where children playing & dancing on the rice field with buffaloes. It would be some nursery rhymes humming inside us while beholding the “Childhood Memory”.
