Manzi Art Space
From Manzi:
Nhà Sàn Collective, Queer Forever! and Manzi Art Space are pleased to invite you to the “18.9.1999″ – a snapshot party with artist Veronika Radulovic.
On Sept. 18 1999, a very special party took place when a group of Vietnamese and foreign gays and lesbians dressed up as drag queens and kings at the Press Club Hanoi. This party snapshots by Veronika Radulovic captured this unique and almost historical moment of the city. At Manzi today, exactly 15 years later, these photos become a document of Hanoi’s fancy social life in the past.
The show includes:
– 160 archival pictures by Veronika Radulovic.
– A video-interview by the German documentary filmmaker Heiko Kalmbach in 2014 with Tran Van Thang, one of the drag-queens from the party.
– An archival video made by Therese Zambra, of the second drag party in 2001.
Dress code: Anything goes!
Free entrance.
