Thirty veteran artists of the HCM City Fine Arts Association are showcasing their paintings and sculptures to celebrate the International Day of Elderly People, which fell on October 1.
The exhibition, which opened on Tuesday, displays 64 works depicting landscapes and the lifestyle and people of Viet Nam.
The works include various styles, including realism, impressionism, semi-abstract and abstract art, on silk, lacquer or do (poonah) paper.
The highlights of the exhibition are the silk painting Thoi Sao (Flute Playing) by 79-year-old Truong Van Y, the oil painting Nang Sang Tren Song (Morning Sunshine in the River) by 76-year-old Quach Phong, and a watercolour painting on do paper, Hoa Sen (Lotus) by 78-year-old Bui Ngoc Tu.
The exhibition runs until on October 8, at 218A Pasteur Street in District 3. — VNS
