(VOV) -A painting exhibition themed “A dream named Human Tree” by young Vietnamese artist Nguyen Dinh Hien (Dino Hien) has been held at Gallery One Three in Melbourne from December 11-20.
Hien was the first Vietnamese artist ever selected to have got US$10,000 in support of his works under the City Council of Melbourne.
His eight paintings and two composite statues carry a clear message of human need to live in harmony with nature and join hands to protect nature.
“As the first Vietnamese exhibitor enjoying support from the Melbourne City Council, I’m very proud but also nervous. I’m well prepared down to the last detail to make the Australian public fully aware of a Vietnamese painter’s profession in a favourable learning environment. So, I hope there will be more young painters to get support from the Melbourne City Council in the coming years”, said Dino Hien.
He began with his 15 oil paintings under an art project sponsored by the Australian Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City, which have been exhibited in Ho Chi Minh City and Melbourne.
At the invitation of famous GJ Asian Art, he had more works exhibited in Singapore in March, 2011.
Nguyen Dinh Hien, born in 1976 in Hoi An City, central Quang Nam province, graduated from the University of Fine Arts in Ho Chi Minh City in 2006. His paintings have been displayed not only in Vietnam but also in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Canada, and Australia.
