About the Artist
Eamonn O’ Callaghan is an Irish artist currently living and working in Vietnam. He studied at the Crawford College of Art and Design in Ireland and graduated in 2007. Since then he has traveled and taught art in Africa, Europe and Asia.
As an artist he is inspired by the richly textured figurative imagery of ancient frescos and has created a personal mythology to express himself .
His paintings explore themes of memory and place expressed through human forms intertwined with poetic landscapes. The figures emerge from the surface of the paintings or dissolve into them, just as memories of someone can be vivid or fade away, forgotten.
